Figgis is a crazy, Milago merchant on Denduron who discovers the explosive mineral tak. He guards his finds under the Bedoowan Palace with many traps but dies when he springs one of them. Saint Dane transforms into Figgis and gives the tak to the Milago tribe. In the last chapters of the book, you'll find out that Figgis is actually, Saint Dane in disguise. You'll also find out that Figgis(The real Figgis), was killed years ago, after finding the tak mine.
